What to do at Les Sables d'Olonne?
Walking along the embankment is the perfect way to spend a day in Les Sables d'Olonne. As you stroll along, you'll be able to admire the town's lighthouses, as far as the petite jetée and the grande jetée. Every 4 years, in November, a major event takes place in Les Sables d'Olonne: the Vendée Globe. This round-the-world sailing race, which has been running since 1989, takes place single-handed, non-stop and without assistance.
The Solo Maître CoQ race takes place every year. It is the first event in the French Elite single-handed ocean racing championship.
